No one’s fun anymore.
Let’s fix that.
Creative direction to make parties and events Fun Again.
THE SITUATION
We are in a fun recession.
I’ve been monitoring the situation professionally for many years. Corporate ones, celebratory ones, a few that cost more than a house deposit.
Everyone's polite. The food is fine. The playlist was made by someone who has heard of music. Nobody complains, nobody stays late, and by Tuesday nobody can tell you a single thing that happened.
THE FIX
It isn't a money problem. I've watched enormous budgets produce absolutely nothing, and I've seen people do unforgettable things with a village hall and a strong opinion.
One idea, taken further than anyone was expecting, then built properly. Not just a theme or a moodboard. A specific, creative, frankly quite ridiculous detail or concept that people talk about for weeks.
Too much is the correct amount.
THE RECEIPTS
I’ve spent over a decade producing employee events. It’s given me a good supplier list and a low tolerance for events that are only fine.
What you need is the boring part done well. Suppliers who turn up, timings that hold, and someone in the room whose entire job is making sure the idea survives contact with the reality of the day. All of which means you get to be a guest at your own party.
Thankfully, I’ve done this before.

FAQS
-
It depends entirely on the event and the headcount, so anyone quoting you before asking is guessing. As a ballpark: the events I take on start in the high four figures once suppliers are in. If that's not where you are, tell me anyway and I'll be honest about whether I'm the right call.
-
Six months is comfortable. Three is doable. Six weeks has happened. If I have capacity I love a challenge, so even if it’s not far away give me a shout.
-
Absolutely. I take care of project managing all the moving parts, so you can enjoy your event as a guest and not a client.
-
Yup, whether it's florists, set builders, lighting people or pastry chefs, I know everyone needed to make your event special. I brief them, work closely with them and make sure what they deliver matches what we've agreed.
-
Yes. The suppliers travel, and some of the best rooms are nowhere near the big cities.
